Needing a belt is always good news. I am over 10lbs heavier, but pretty comfortable with my current weight (old friends that I have not met in years think I am sick because I look so much thinner).

Hey, I am doing an O.D. in 13 weeks or so. Read in Triathele Mag that one way is to "stack it up" to an Ironman (go from Sprint -> Oly -> HIM -> IM). Maybe you can use a similar plan to build back up and keep things fun along the way.

You're just priming the pump. It usually takes me a while to see significant weight loss. By the way, not saying you should, but if you do back out of IM WI for 07, would you come back for IM WI 08? I'm thinking about it.

Chris,
You seem to be on quite the extreme diet there! What worked for me was not necessarily restricting/watching the calories but limiting my dinners to a bowl of progresso soup with a scoop of plain protein powder. The weight started dropping off when I cut the evening gorge sessions...just my .02 cents.

Re: the lack of motivation, I found myself in the same boat in 05...new job, move, etc...just couldn't "find" the time to train....had to bow out of IM AZ & IMC. It sucked at the time but I didn't want to go thru the motions and set a PW...again, my .02 cents but you young guys have plenty of time and the motivation will always come back....it's what we do....sorry, rambling again but no shame in dropping a race here or there to rest and recharge for a season, if necessary.

Chris - anybody who wants to gain 5 pounds only need stop on a Tanita. It's faster than a week-of-Blizzards.
If you want to lose weight, go to Lifetime and get on their scale. Voila!
See you Sunday!

I hear ya brother and my Starbucks belly feels your pain. Not much progress on my end either...except for a 3-lb. increase in lean mass...which could just be a hiccup in the program.

Hopefully we can both showcase better numbers in our next reports.

Have a great weekend!
