Cold

You know that you haven’t blogged in a long time when your whole blogging interface looks entirely foreign to you and you don’t really remember how it works very well. I guess looking at my last post date, it really has been a long time!

I suppose it’s typical of me if you look at years past. I’ve historically been known to just disappear during the winter months. There isn’t a whole lot to talk about and I’m sure everyone doesn’t want to hear me complain daily about how cold it is here and how I can’t wait to move someplace else (just about anyplace else!).

Anyway, after China (pictures, BTW can be found at my gallery for anyone that is interested and hasn’t seen them already) we stopped by the Manila for the weekend where I met up with some family and celebrated my grandmothers 90th birthday! I haven’t been to Manila in 10 years or so! The ‘lil kids aren’t so little anymore, but other than that folks were mostly the same. It was great to see some of my extended family again.

The picture doesn’t even represent them all. There are still a good number that were missing. Yes, our family (my mom’s side, anyway) is huge!

Then back to Minnesota where I came back to an utter mess of problems at work that over a month later we’re still trying to dig ourselves out of. That’s been my life now for the past month and a half.

I’ve played a little World of Warcraft and had a couple of pathetic efforts at getting my diet under control. As always, that will start again “next week”. I’m up somewhere between 15-20 pounds over my race weight. Not the best feeling, but maybe it’s instinctive for us during these winter months? At least it’s instinctive for me. I can’t help but want to fatten up and go hibernate someplace until the Spring thaw occurs.

I suppose that’s it. I told you I didn’t have much to say. But at least you all know that I’m still alive. :)

  2. Welcome back! Glad I’m not the only one who’s put on a little chub since the race. No worries. It’ll come off in no time with the training.

  13. I’m glad you had such a good time– you have to expect to put on a few pounds when you go on vacation.

I’m from a big family too, on my father’s side. Isn’t it great to all get together? No matter how long you’ve been apart, no matter how little you might know about some of them, you’re always welcome. It’s a great feeling.

  14. Glad to have you back! Don’t get stuck playing too much World or Warcraft, or your training will SUFFER!!

  15. YAY so glad you’re back! One of these days I’ll get to China, totally fascinating country. And if it’s any consolation, I totally sympathize with the cold!

No worries on the extra poundage…once you dust off that bike, i’m sure it’ll drop right off.

  17. Good to see you back.

A huge family is a blessing – espcially when you can visit only occasionally. ;)
