I swear… I’m going to cry. It’s only October 10th. :(

I can’t believe that it’s only been three weeks since Ironman Wisconsin?! It honestly seems like it was months and months ago. It’s pretty depressing to see how much tighter my clothes fit now in just that short period of time and to feel how out of shape I’ve become (or at least feel like I’ve become). I haven’t actually tried working out yet at all, but I’ve done things like jog across the street to my car in the parking lot. I swear I get winded now after about 50 meters of running. It’s really sad.
My “summer jeans” are starting to suffocate me. They’ve gone from needing to be held up with a belt to digging into my mid-section when I sit down. The first thing I do when I get home is to take those torture devices off and throw on some loose elastic shorts. If I had to pick, I’d say it’s one of the things I look forward to most each day. :) From there, my evenings are spent watching TV, playing video games, and what not. I’m keeping true to my promise before the race that I wasn’t going to start working out until at least a month after the race. I can’t say that I’m not itching to get out and do something though.
I’ve started thinking about next year and what the season will look like. Ironman Wisconsin 2007 is already on the calendar, but what else will be there? I’m thinking next season will be the season of 1/2s. I don’t really enjoy the sprint and Olympic distances that much - I just don’t like going all out for an hour or two. So I’m thinking maybe three or four 1/2s throughout the season with Wisconsin at the end of the season? Possible contenders thus far are Ironman California, Gulf Coast Triathlon, Liberty Triathlon, Chisago Lakes Triathlon. Those last two are local so are easy and afforable choices. Or maybe something like Ironman Baja, St. Croix 70.3, or Florida 70.3? Are any of you guys planning on attending any of the above? Or do you have other recommendations for early/mid-season halves? An early/mid-season 1/2 filled with my fellow bloggers sound like it could be fun, don’t you think? :)
But for now, I don’t have much else to say or report which is why I haven’t posted as of late. In all honesty, my life without training and Ironman is actually pretty boring. :P I think most folks would love sitting around at night watching TV and not doing anything else. But it’s driving me nuts though and I’m bouncing off the walls with my own self imposed exercise restriction.
Only another week until… FRREEEEEEDDDOOOOOM!
