Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Today is probably the only holiday in the calendar that I feel is “worthy” of celebrating. I tend not to be a big holiday sort of person (BTW, it was my birthday last Friday… so, see? I don’t even really care to celebrate my own existence :) ), but I suppose if there is one that I should celebrate, this is it.

In training news, I’m at 13 hours for the week so far (with today still to go) and have 150 miles this week already logged on the bike. That’s a 2006 record thus far! Last year at this time, I was below 10 hours and only averaging in the low 17 MPH range on the bike, where I’m in the low 19 MPH range now. So I’m quite happy to be where I’m at.

As for the bike, a new contender enters the mix:

It’s been weighing on me that the Tiphoon, while titanium, is probably actually less aero than what I have already. I posted over at SlowTwitch about sizing help from going from a P3 to a Tiphoon, and who else than one of the Cervelo owners chimes in on the thread to give some insight. I’m potentially moving away from one of his products and he still takes the time to help out? That’s class, I tell you. Since I’ve been happy with my P3, why not more seriously consider their new baby. Plus, its colors are to die for. Oh why can’t my LBS be open on Easter?

Anyone want to buy me a Zipp 999 wheelset as a belated birthday gift?! ;)

  3. If it’s good enough for Ivan Basso and Dave Zabriskie…. I think you’d look great on a Cervelo!

AND good work on the training! :-)

Can’t give any bike suggestions, because I’m not a biker-gal. Currently, anyway. Who knows what the future holds?

  7. I’m just drooling over that bike. I’m beginning to shop around for a tri bike for the future (if I’m good).

  11. A guy I ride with has a P3C. They are very beautiful machines. Have you looked into the new P2C at all? That is a sweet bike as well.

  12. Your training is rocking! Your season is going to be fun to watch, especially on a spanking new bike. I must agree that this one is the “fairest of them all”.

  14. Oh, and you’ll be the one saving me a few brats as I will be trailing behind you all day at IMWI, especially if you get the P3.
