Washman!

A very belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and a pre-Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all of you. I hope everything has been going well with you all.

I continue leading the good life which is doing basically nothing but watching TV and eating whatever it is I feel like. I’ve made a soft promise to myself that this will end the first of the year, though. I’m squeezing in my last guilty pleasures of pizza, burgers, and various other fattening foods before I start living on fruits and veggies once again.

I tried running the other day. I think I’ve cured my ITB problem by becoming so out of shape that I can’t run far enough to where my ITB would actually start giving me problems. Not the optimal cure, but it works, I guess. :( I’m so pathetically out of shape right now it isn’t funny.

I’d like to introduce you all to my second niece - Madison Sophia. She was born just four days ago at 7 pounds and 7 oz. I forgot just how tiny newborns are.

Lastly, in talking with my sister yesterday the word Ironman got mentioned somehow while Madison’s older sister (3 1/2 years of age) was there. She went on to mumble something about washman and dryman. It took us both a while before we finally got it. She didn’t even mean for it to be a joke, but it was pretty darn funny to me. :)

  5. Welcome back!

Awww, what an adorable new family member :)

Base training for me? Running + highly fattening foods + swimming + more fattening foods + cycling + too many glasses of wine = Much, much slower. Oh well.

  11. Leading the “good life” and running triathlons are the perfect balance if you ask me. Live it up, then train like hell. That’s the way we did it in the Corps.

By the way, cute niece and welcome back!

Also, what’s your favorite pizza and burger?
