Where’d My Week Go?!

Apparently, I’m an idiot and thought that I still had seven weeks left until IM Wisconsin, but I only have six! Egads. That’s one less week of base training that’s going to get done. Not that I think it’ll matter that much, but the fact that I didn’t account for an entire week of training this close to the race is well… scary. So it’s probably 2-1/2 weeks of base training with a 1/2 week of recovery. Then it’s peak, peak, and race weeks. Man this whole thing is just right around the corner!

What else? My friend Jon and I did manly car stuff a bunch on Saturday morning and afternoon. Then in the evening, Carol, Jon, his wife, Amy, and I all had dinner at Famous Dave’s and went to go watch Wedding Crashers. Dinner was yummy and while the movie started out a little slow, it got better towards the end. It’s not going to win any academy awards, but it was good for a dumb laugh.

I didn’t do an ounce of training all weekend and I don’t feel the slightest bit guilty either. I did get up this morning for my masters workout and am motivated to get back on my bike and get my running shoes back on, though. All that rest seems to have done me good! Now if I can only get my diet back in order… This weekend was another weekend of epic eating. I’m scared to weigh myself. :( And the Minnesota State Fair is right around the corner, too. That’s not good…

  1. I know your pain with the eating issue. I didn’t plan it but had nothing but junk food since my tri on Saturday. I won’t weigh myself until next weekend!

  2. Please..you’re skin and bones…at least that is what my mom would say. You are going to do great at IMWI! Not far now…

I don’t even want to talk about my eating!

  3. yeah, but Flatman, garbage in, garbage out. It’s not that he’s going to gain weight. It’s that his body will be a less efficient machine if he puts all that crap into it. I’ve never understood the fascination with the state fair anyway. It’s a bunch of lame rides, disgusting foods and gigantic people who need motorized carts to get them around.

Please tell me how that is fun?

  5. If I could lose any of my skin or bones, I’d probably do it. The less weight I have to carry around with me, the better! :)

Disgusting foods, Sascha? Blasphemy! Granted, you can’t eat anything there that is actually good for you, but the “disgusting” stuff tastes ohhhh so good - or at least I think so. The rest of the crap there is just crap though, I agree. I just go there to eat. :)

  6. I’m sorry. I don’t even have to fight temptation. Anything on a stick is gross to me and I detest deep fried everything, except for very occasional odd cravings…

  7. Hehe. It could very well be a guy thing. I know far more guys who look forward to state fair food than girls that do. In fact, I don’t know if I know a single girl who is into it? Hmmmm.

I read something out there that girls minds are wired to crave sweets and chocolate and stuff while guys minds pretty much just want fatty, deep fried stuff.

  8. That is so true! I like going to ballgames, just so I can eat hot dogs, nachos, overly salted peanuts, etc… It is all way to expensive and horrible for you. What could be better???

Anything is better on a stick! Mmmm…funnel cakes too…

  9. Guilty! I totally look forward to the state fair.

I know it’s kinda cheesy and the people watching is a sad affair. Dang, though, there are these deep fried raviolis that I always have to eat. Oh, and sweet martha’s cookies? Drool.

Besides, where else can a city girl get her fix of farm life?

  10. So did Wedding Crashers suck or not? Part of it was filmed about 3 miles from my place in St. Michaels, Maryland.
