On Second Thought

Hmmm… maybe I’m better off skipping my ride until tomorrow or Monday even.

“The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch… Effective this Saturday morning from 715 am until noon CDT. Hail to 2 inches in diameter… thunderstorm wind gusts to 70 mph… and dangerous lightning are possible in these areas.”

And if that’s not bad enough, we’re also blessed with this:

“… Heat advisory in effect from 10 am this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening… Temperatures in the 90s combined with relative humidity from 45 to 50 percent will make it feel more like 105 later today. A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids… stay in an air-conditioned room… stay out of the sun… and check up on relatives and neighbors.”

Sounds like a good day to stay inside and watch the tour!

  1. No kidding. I’m watching it get dark as night out there and thinking I may not get any kind of workout in today. Wouldn’t it be nice if this were the heatbreaking storm though? It’d be soooo nice if I could get a ride in sub-90 degrees.

  2. I totally hear you about this morning. I was watching the TdF on TV this morning wondering why the sun hadn’t come out yet. I look up and it’s already 10:30 am! It looked like it was barely sunrise!

It didn’t get nearly as hot as it was supposed to today. But it looks like that is short lived as it’s going to be another scorcher tomorrow. *sigh*
