It is 1:30 here and it's already 95. I have taken to getting up at 0 dark 30 for my runs. Still sticky though, but much better. Be careful out there!

"How bad can it be?" Oooh, famous last words...you were really lucky! Glad you learned a lesson without having to REALLY learn a lesson the hard way ;)

Youre hardcore. I was only out for 30 minutes running last night... and I too went out dehydrated.

I knew something was wrong when I wasn't sweating anymore.

Blasted heatwave.

in that heat you should have taken some water with you...as you know it's always hot here so I use a Fuel Belt with 2 bottle and have to stop to fill it up...

A race that ends in beer?! Now that sounds like a race! :)

I'm not signed up for anything except Wisconsin for the rest of the year (well, I'm signed up as a relay for Turtleman but I'll most likely have to skip that one). It would be fun to catch some post race food though! What other races do you have this summer? I might be out there to watch some of the others? I just won't be racing.

I've come to love sprinklers, you can't carry enough water to keep cool in this stuff. I'm doing the torchlight parade tonight-that's fun and it's the only race that ends in beer-that I know of. Let me know what other races you have going, it would be fun to catch some post race food with you two after a race.

Hey you. You're right. It was much warmer than even I'd expected today. However, I was just on a boat hanging out (i.e. not training) -- so it wasn't all that uncomfortable.

That said, do you have an email address? If so, email me. I want to question you further on my whole nutrition/eating issue that I referred to on my blog. Mostly, what kind of guides do you use regarding caloric-needs. I have no idea how much I should be eating on a day to day basis. I know what my WW program offers, but that's WW. How did you figure out what an athlete at your level needs?

Thanks, Chris.

Hey...it's supposed to be 100 tomorrow and all the way through Sunday here in lovely western Iowa. I'm trying to figure out if I should get up early to work out on the weekend or go to the gym at work. A three hour treadmill workout in air conditioning or a three hour walk in massive heat and humidity? I feel your pain.
