Favorite Songs

I’ve been putting this off for a while because I just have way too many songs that I like! I pretty much listen to anything - all different types of songs from all different genres. But to appease the masses and finally be able to cross this off my list of things to do, here’s a few songs that I have very highly rated in my iTunes library. In no particular order:

Take You Back - Jeremy Camp
In Da Club - 50 Cent
Anthem - Good Charlotte
Somebody - Depeche Mode
1985 - Bowling For Soup
Son of a Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield
Without Me - Eminem
Your Body Is A Wonderland - John Mayer
My Own Worst Enemy - Lit
Hold Up - Murphy Lee
Glory of Love - Peter Cetera
Banditos - The Refreshments
With or Without You - U2
Bawitdaba - Kid Rock
Bulls on Parade - Rage Against the Machine
Blessed Be Your Name - Tree63
Concerto no. 10 in B minor RV 580 (1) - Vivaldi
Cry - Faith Hill
Turn Me On - Norah Jones
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams
I Think I’m In Love With You - Jessica Simpson

And a thanks to Commodore for posting about his experience with All Of MP3. That “service” is great!!

  1. Somebody - Depeche Mode - this was our wedding song. The best version is the live one from DM 101.

  2. hey a fellow calvinophile. This comic more than anything mirrors my life as a child and a good period of time as an adult. Calvin is my avatar on a few forums.

  3. “Glory of Love”? Come on…

Just joking…you are all over the chart with that list…just like mine. You weren’t kidding. Man, my wife would squeal if she saw this list. She loves Bryan Adams! That is a great song and I might add it to my list.

By the way, is that a good version of Blessed Be Your Name? I have one, but I am not sure who sings it…

  4. Phil: I have both versions - the original single and the 101 version. Both are great!

Com: Calvin is my hero. I haven’t gotten an M-Dot tattoo yet, but that tattoo that I posted before on my back is of C&H.

Flatman: Hmmm… I like the Blessed Be Your Name version that I have. It’s kind of faster paced? I actually had it stuck in my head while I was at Wisco last year. That along with some annoying Chinese kids song that basically counted from 1 to 3 and back down again over and over. That song seemed like it was repeat for the four hour trek from from Minneapolis to Madison!

  5. Flatman, you blasphemer! ;) The Glory of Love is my all time favorite song, when I was 13 I saw the Karate Kid part 2 and it just seared itself somewhere in my head. Chris, you are officially the only other person on the planet I’ve ever met who has heard of, and also likes, this song!! I should have guessed it though with “Chivalry.net” Not many of those old-school boys left.

Therefore, you have eternal coolness in my book. Oh, and Son of a Preacher Man is also awesome, this whole list in fact. Nice ;)

  7. The karate kid two? Is that were he goes to the big city with his chaperone and gets lost and has all kinds of crazy adventures and meets interesting characters along with adult villians and such and then all the stuff that was learned in the first movie to help him win was easily defeated by villians in the second movie and he had to learn a whole new set of values…oh wait I remember… that was Babe 2: Pig in the city, not Karate Kid 2.

  9. Peter Cetera rocks! I should’ve also added the entire Chicago’s Greatest Hits to my list above. I don’t remember how many times I listened to that album while I was in high school. I was so sappy back then… although I did have some N.W.A. and Eazy-E albums to balance all that out. :P

  10. Flatman, oh, Flatman…now you dis my movies! Come on man, give me a break! Peter Cetera is AWESOME, as is Chicago - Chris, you won’t be flogged for this alone. Something about his voice is just great. Be proud, man. Be proud.

  12. Hey, Chicago is okay…it’s just Cetera on his own that is so sappy… :)
