Achilles Woes

Well, it’s been a couple of weeks since I hurt my achilles and it hasn’t really gotten much better. I suppose I didn’t really rest it other than to not do any long runs; I’ve still been running probably 25 miles a week on my bum foot. I think I’m going to not run at all this week and see what happens. That totally sucks, seeing that my running is my biggest limiter.

I got about half a mile into my ride yesterday when I started getting rained on. So I turned around and went back home. I had the intention of riding on my trainer for two hours, but 1:10 into it I just couldn’t take the boredom anymore so I hopped off. Today, the weather looks much the same as yesterday only colder and more windy. Lovely.

The more I think about it, the more I think I should roll my IM spot to IMC next year. I’d give me all year to just focus on recovering from all my nagging injuries and getting healthy for next year. If my friend weren’t signed up for Wisconsin this year and it weren’t probably his last Ironman, I’d be all over it. Decisions, decisions…
