I think mine were caused my the constant beating of my toenails against the front of my shoe. But I don’t know why this only happened with two toenails and the other eight were fine? I used to room with a guy that ran cross country in college. He said it was pretty common for those folks to have their toenails taken off so that they didn’t cause problems later.
