Still Alive

Yes, I’m still alive. I was good there for a week or so about keeping my site updated, and then it all came crashing back down again. Truth is that I’ve never really been good and updating folks with what I’ve been doing. Those people that know me and that no longer live nearby can first hand attest to the fact that I’m absolutely horrible at keeping in touch with people. Not that I don’t care about them or think about them anymore, but I’m just awful at calling or writing back. It’s one of the (many) things that I need to work on.

The past month or so has been fairly hectic. Work has been keeping me pretty busy. I found out last week that we’ll be getting bonuses again this year. Yippee! Money that you never counted on getting is the best kind.

My training has been pretty poor as of late. I’ve been eating more than I should and I’ve been training far less that I was at this point last year. I just haven’t signed up to do any big races in 2005 so it’s hard for me to be motivated. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing Ironman Canada, but paying the hefty premium of a community fund spot and the thought of the cost of travel to Canada and that I’d be doing the race without any friends accompanying me has me thinking otherwise. I really need to decide on that soon before the option is entirely gone.

My ITB in my right leg might be gone. It doesn’t bug me when I walk or run, but sometimes when I’m sitting or lying around at night, I swear that I can feel that something still isn’t right. I don’t know if it’s still not completely healed and is just in my head or what? It also has me not wanting to sign up for anything overly ambitious.

Not too much else to report. My girlfriend and I are doing well. The “M” word has creeped up in our conversations. I’d be lucky to have her forever, the pain in the ass that I can be. :) I’m heading on vacation in about a months time. I’m really looking forward to it. I haven’t been on a proper vacation in a long time.

All for now…
