So those couple of runs that I did last week were all I ended up doing last week. I still maintained my good eating habits and would have liked to have worked out, but it was so darn cold here that I wasn’t going outside for anything. In fact, from last Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, I didn’t go outside once except to check my mailbox on Saturday afternoon.

The cold spell is almost over, I think? We’re supposed to have more normal temperatures anyway. Winds are still gusting to 30 MPH today though, which means I’ll probably skip another day of running. At this point, what’s another few days. :)

Well, sometime during the week I unofficially started my training again… if you can call it that. I basically have decided to eat better again and to start working out instead of sitting on my butt doing nothing. So far, I’ve gotten two three mile runs in and they were slow with a skyrocketing HR at that (I’m talking 160+ BPM). But I guess that’s to somewhat be expected after taking four months mostly off. I have to remember that it took me four months of being extraordinarily lazy to get me to this point; it’s not going to all come back to me tomorrow, or next week, or maybe not even next month. But it will come back.

I went to lunch with a co-worker today and we were talking about triathlons, Ironman’s, training and the works. I was starting to get excited about the prospects of another season. I think the itch is back, folks…

Happy New Year everyone! It’s been almost two months since I’ve posted. Ugh. Been relaxing lots, playing lots of video games, eating lots. I’m a good 10+ pounds heavier since IM.

I’ll start on my training pretty soon though. Video games are starting to lose their luster. I’m feeling fat and out of shape. I’ll be happier about myself once I start working out again. Tired and hungry a lot, but probably more happy in the long run.
