In Madison

I arrived yesterday afternoon, but didn’t really have time to post. It was pretty much just check-in, unpack, eat dinner, (take my niece for a quick swim because I told her I would if she was good at dinner :) ), and then sleep.

I had a minor scare at dinner last night. My friend who is racing with me called me to tell me that the last day to register at the race site was yesterday at 4:30 pm. And athletes who had not registered were not going to be allowed to race. In the back of my mind, I knew they had to make exceptions for folks that didn’t make the deadline. They know the sacrifice that’s involved for doing one of these things and I didn’t have my family and girlfriend come out here for nothing. But later he called to tell me that we’re going to be allowed to register today at 9 am. So I guess the scare isn’t totally over yet. But if they don’t let us register, expect to hear about a massive killing spree that happened at downtown Madison sometime today on the news.

Not really much else to say. I slept fairly well last night which is good since that was the most important night of sleep. I hear that people don’t really sleep well the night before IM so I’m not expecting to.

One more day!
