Back in Minnesota

I actually got back late last night, but was too tired to really post anything about the trip then. Our flight back from Panama City Beach yesterday wasn’t until 4:20 pm and we had to be out of our condo at 10 am which left us with some time to kill in a town where we pretty much exhausted everything there was to do. We left the condo to find that most places were closed for lunch, so we just decided to make a quick stop at the airport to check-in for our flight. There were a couple people in line in front of us and then a party of eight people or so lined up behind us to check in, only their flight left in like 15 minutes. So we waited on the side while the ticket agent processed their request to try and get them on their flight. My girlfriend was getting noticeably annoyed that they couldn’t have gotten there sooner to check in for their flights. That was odd as she’s usually the more patient of the two. But the ticket agent must have sensed something and apologized to us and said he was going to waive the $80 bike shipping charge for me. Totally worth the wait.

Our 4:20 flight actually turned into a 5:05 flight due to some kind of delay out of Memphis. That, in turn, caused us to miss our connection to Minneapolis so we arrived about an hour later than we were supposed to. There was a little problem finding our bags. I think they got put on an earlier flight that we weren’t on and they must have been waiting in Minneapolis for some time as they were at an entirely different carousel than we were supposed to be at. Everything made it though and nothing was damaged.

It’s a little sad to be back, but while Panama City Beach is a gorgeous place to visit there really is only so much putt putt you can play and Waffle Houses that you can drive past before you realize that it’s probably time to go home. I could really do without having to sit here in my cube today, though.
